This was my first marriage and I wanted to plan the perfect wedding shower. I needed help, so I asked my sister if she would like to help me plan it. My sister agreed to help me and was excited about it. I know there is a lot of work to be done when planning a shower and I was eager to get started. I have planned showers before and I knew my shower would turn out awesome. I didn’t have a lot of time and I knew I better get started with the planning.
My sister and I searched for a hall to rent that was big enough to accommodate all of the guests. We found one and it was near my house. We then went searching on the internet for all the decorations and gifts. We found a lot of themed wedding shower ideas that were so adorable. I bought all my decorations and gifts for the shower. Our next step was to find shower favors. There was a big variety to choose from. This took some time to decide when looking at all the wonderful shower favors. We saw a cotton handkerchief that was so elegant, that I decided this is what I want to give my guests for a wedding favor. I thought I could purchase one for me and have it on me the day I get married. I found a dress handkerchief that was so gorgeous. I was so sure that all my guests would fall in love with the handkerchiefs. I planned to get the lace handkerchief for a shower favor for all my guests.
Everything was falling into place. We had the hall and ordered all the decorations, gifts and wedding favors. I now had to plan what I was going to have as food for my shower. I was going to have it catered, but it was way too expensive for my budget. While looking through my recipes, I came across some of the best dishes, that I know me and my sister could prepare. Our local bakery makes cakes for showers, so that is who we ordered it from. Everything was ready. I picked out these gorgeous invitations and mailed them. All we had to do was wait until the day of the shower.
It was the day of the shower and I and my sister went to the hall early to set the tables and decorate. It took us about an hour to decorate the hall. When we were finished decorating, the hall looked so good. Luckly I bought my camera with me because I wanted to remember how gorgeous the room looked. The cake was on the table with the food and each table had a center piece. All the tables had a cotton handkerchief at each setting. If you were to walk in the room, you would think how gorgeous it looked.
My guests finally arrived and we all had such a great time. We all enjoyed each other’s company. We ate and played games. I heard throughout the shower that my guests liked receiving the handkerchief as a gift. I received so many gifts from all my family and friends. It made me sad when the shower was ending, because I really enjoyed myself and my guests did to.
At the end of the shower and when everybody was going home, my guest told me that they really loved the handkerchief. I am so glad I went with the handkerchief for the wedding favor. This day turned out so good and will be remembered for a life time. I am so glad that my sister was there to plan the shower with me. It made me feel good that she was by my side through this. I picked her to be my maid of honor, because of that.
